General Summary: DECKED is currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager. Must be highly skilled in developing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing Quality Management Systems (QMS) that meets ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops QA plans by conducting quality risk analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical control limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures
  • Validates processes by establishing process control specifications that meet design requirements and implement process control plans in manufacturing and assembly operations. Monitor conformance to control plans. Update control plans as required to address quality and warranty concerns.
  • Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, and system surveillance audits; monitor customer warranty data and complaints. Collaborate with engineering and product development on new product, engineering designs, manufacturing and training methods.
  • Construct facility ISO 9001 framework with supporting procedures, documents, and work instructions - including coordination of input from process owners.
  • Implement supplier quality systems including PPAP, on site surveillance audits, and 8D closure of plant quality and warranty concerns.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a Document Control system linked to ISO 9001 framework.
  • Responsible for implementing a measurement strategy and maintaining a Gage Calibration system.
  • Support strategic planning of new product and process introduction, product launch, and continuous improvement of existing products. Generating information and analysis to strategic plans; preparing action plans; implementing quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems.
  • Conduct process, product and system audits to verify effectiveness of QMS.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; maintains personal networks; participates in professional organizations.
  • Be highly committed to continuous improvement.




Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BS/BA in relevant field of study and/or ASQ Quality Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, and/or Certified Quality Auditor.
  • Proven QA experience in various types of manufacturing environments and a demonstrated history of role progression
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and or IATF16949 certification is a strong advantage
  • Able to travel to meet with suppliers as necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate and build consensus in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional conflict resolution attributes and adaptability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Minitab
  • Work history that demonstrates a strong work ethic
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard
