Communications Director Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an integrated communications strategy covering brand communications, internal communications, and overarching communications strategy though traditional and digital channels.
  • Manage corporate and executive media relations, including drafting press releases
  • Identify and support the company's presence at external events.
  • Write and edit content across various channels, including internal announcements, intranet articles, emails, talking points, fact sheets, presentations, press releases, video scripts, and web copy.
  • Offer guidance to internal stakeholders in the development of communications plans and associated assets or collateral.
  • Maintain consistent branding across internal and external channels.
  • Manage key vendors in line with budget and priorities.
  • Monitor and report results to optimize communications strategies.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, and supervise staff.


Communications Director Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • 12 years of relevant experience supporting communications in a corporate or agency environment, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in working with C-suite/founder led organizations.
  • Background in change management communications.
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced headquarters environment.
  • Proven success in brand management, external relations, and internal communications.
  • Ability to translate technical information into engaging content for various audiences.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to work independently on multiple assignments, maintaining high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing comprehensive, multi-channel marketing and communications plans.
  • Superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to develop effective partnerships at all levels.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights, utilizing analytics tools to communicate outcomes and ROI.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with flexibility, adaptability, and strong business acumen.
