Respiratory Therapy Assistant

Maine Medical CenterService/Maintenance SupportReq #: 5245Summary:The Respiratory Therapy Assistant role is matriculated as a freshman in an approved Associate's Degree program for Respiratory Therapy and must maintain passing grades and attendance requirements. The Apprentice works under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist and performs multiple duties that require an expertise in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment in addition to performing electrocardiograms. The Apprentice is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various respiratory work areas and assisting the Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks, as directed.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)1. Education: Active enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program required.2. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.3. Experience: N/A4.
