What You’ll Do:
As an Senior Analyst at Emerald Strategy Group, with a focus on both the Emerald Strategy Partners (ESP) and Energy Transition Finance (ETF) businesses, you will play a critical role in supporting clients through the challenges and opportunities presented by the energy transition.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in financial analysis, project financing, and strategic advisory to help companies and organizations navigate clean energy and technology projects.
You will work closely with clients to analyze, design, and implement innovative financial strategies for energy transition projects, while supporting both ESP’s strategic advisory services and ETF’s financing initiatives. Your responsibilities will span across financial modeling, strategic assessments, and the preparation of high-quality professional deliverables, ensuring that our clients receive comprehensive, actionable insights.
Throughout your tenure, your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed financial analysis and producing financial models for energy transition and clean technology projects.
- Supporting strategic advisory services by drafting and reviewing business plans, financial plans, and market-entry strategies for clients involved in the energy transition.
- Producing polished and professional deliverables, including written reports, presentations, concept papers, and project proposals.
- Collaborating on market scanning and analysis for energy transition projects, including identifying potential M&A targets, partnerships, and market opportunities.
- Engaging in strategic project development, helping clients explore non-dilutive funding options from government agencies, green banks, and private investors.
- Providing thought leadership and research on topics related to clean technology, financial markets, and the energy transition.
- Working with internal and external teams to ensure the successful management and execution of projects, from early-phase assessments to full-scale implementation.
- Supporting both ESP’s advisory services and ETF’s energy transition finance initiatives by facilitating workshops, client meetings, and communicating recommendations clearly and effectively.
- Assisting in the development of Community Benefits Plans and contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across projects and clients.
What We Are Looking For (Required Qualifications):
- Experience with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or DOE National Labs, particularly in reviewing concept papers, grant applications, and loan applications.
- At least two (2) years of experience working in financial analysis and clean technology project finance, demonstrating strong skills in financial modeling and business planning.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholder engagement across multiple projects.
- Confidence in drafting and delivering high-quality, professional reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- A self-starter, with a strong interest in energy transition, climate change, and clean technology markets.
- A team-oriented approach, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to contribute innovative ideas.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping clients navigate the evolving landscape of the energy transition.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Energy Policy, or a related field.
- Experience in consulting, project finance, or private equity, particularly within the energy sector, would be advantageous.
- Experience with merger and acquisition due diligence would be advantageous.
