This position is located ON-SITE in Albany, GA.


Responsibilities:

  • Overall support to basic Accounting Tasks, including transaction analysis, accounting reconciliations, and data entry.
  • Conduct financial statement reviews/reconciliations.
  • Conduct data Analysis/Remediation across the universe of financial transactions.
  • Provide interpretive and analytical perspectives on financial transactions and program execution.
  • Compile data remediation plans and corrective actions for transactional data discrepancies.
  • Develops and formats content to provide program and financial managers with various data relative to funds status.
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements and reports.
  • Review and assist with reconciling balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and responses as assigned.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Review General Ledger accounts and identify negative trends; recommend corrective action.
  • Advise on Trial Balance/General Ledger Account abnormal conditions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with the development of required documentation in support of Journal Voucher for submission to the Comptroller or higher for signature; review all supporting documentation IAW regulation and policy. ideal candidate will be responsible for using their analytical mindset to analyze and interpret financial data, then relating it to potential business trends and issues. This candidate will feel comfortable using insights they have discovered to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership.

Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance at the minimum level of Secret.


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: Three (3) years of progressive, relevant DoD experience.
  • Minimum Education: Four (4) year degree in accounting or business management-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum Certification: One of the following professional certifications: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM or CDFM.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • An understanding of DoD Acquisition Process and equipment life cycle support functions
  • An understanding of OSD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) and use of Business Process Narratives across multiple procurement and order functions utilized in DoD and the public sector.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
