Chartering Manager, Tankers: Houston, TX
As a Chartering Manager, you will work to ensure that vessels are working at the highest level of profitability while being fully utilized. This role involves coordinating and negotiating contracts with charterers and brokers to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of cargo.
We are looking for the following:
- Bachelor's degree in business, maritime studies, logistics, or a related field. An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification may be advantageous.
- Extensive experience (4+ years) tanker chartering and shipping operations in the tanker market.
- In-depth knowledge of the tanker industry, including vessel types, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with international trade and maritime laws.
- Proficiency in using chartering software and related tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the US, no visa or sponsorship at this time
