UF Health Leesburg Hospital has been serving the health care needs of our community for 58 years. The hospital offers advanced cardiac care including one of the largest cardiothoracic surgery programs in the state. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI and Resuscitation its highest and best level of accreditation. UF Health Leesburg Hospital also offers advanced orthopedic surgery, stroke care, emergency services as well as labor and delivery care.
The hospital is part of UF Health Central Florida, a not-for-profit health care system and the largest most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. UF Health Central Florida provides inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and UF Health The Villages Hospital, inpatient rehabilitation services at UF Health Rehab Hospital The Villages and diagnostic laboratory services at several locations. There are three Cath Labs at UF Healths Leesburg Hospital and 1 Electrophysiology Lab. AN RN who is passionate about elevating their clinical skillset will truly value their professional experience they will acquire while working, as there are of complex interventional cases and structural heart cases. The Providers are excited about the field and love to share their knowledge with their staff. This is a close-knit Cath Lab where collaboration and teamwork is celebrated with state-of-art Cath Lab technology and medical devices. The Director is a servant-leader with 30 years of UF Health Leesburg experience and is dedicated to the success of her team and the people of her community.
Under the direction of the director/charge person, the RN utilizes the nursing process, facilitates patient care making nursing assessments and diagnosis, formulates care plans based on the diagnosis and implements and evaluates the plan of care specific to Cardiac Catherization Lab patients. Responsible for environment of care according to Joint Commission Standards. Responsible for the nursing care of the pre and post Cardiac Catherization Lab patient.
This position shift will be:
- 7am-7pm =3 12 hours shifts + On-Call (1 night a week and 1 weekend a month, approximately every 3rd or 4th weekend=Fri night close of business to Mon 6 am)
- Must report w/in 30 min.
The Cath Lab CVT, under the direction the of the director/charge person, monitors procedures, including all diagnostic and interventional coronary and peripheral catheterization studies, ensures safe patient care, and works as a scrub assistant.
Qualifications
Education: - Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy
- In Lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years experience and: - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)
OR
- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
OR
- FL Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields)
- BLS
- ACLS
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
