Come work at Denver Headshot Company, an industry-leading, tight-knit photography and video company in the Denver metro area.


We are looking to hire a senior-level, independent contractor for corporate headshots, events and video. No newbies


Experienced

You'll need to demonstrate the ability to set up a studio with a perfectly white background in a coat closet (joking...kind of) and have the right amount of charisma to work with a variety of personalities and make someone comfortable in front of the camera with limited time. You're a master problem solver and feel confident directing a person, who likely doesn't love being photographed into a flattering portrait anywhere, anytime. You are nerdy about gear and get excited about learning new things.


You need a decent amount of off-camera flash and studio experience with the confidence that you'll be able to learn more quickly and easily.

Who are you?

On a scale of 1-10 for how friendly and warm you are, you're a 12. You’re an excellent content maker ...but would never say that. You don't like the business, sales, and editing side of being a photographer but could shoot all day. You have the confidence to create content for the white house and the humility to take the trash out after the session is over. You love to grow and learn and work well in a team environment.


This job is an excellent fit for a wedding or family shooter who would like some consistent work during the week with the freedom to still do your photography business part-time.


The photographer must currently live in the Denver area to apply for this position.


Our staff photographers & video team have the best photo jobs in the city. Benefits, flexible schedule, coffee sprees, learning opportunities and hours at the studio to work on personal projects. This independent contractor position will have an opportunity to move into a staff photographer position.


Responsibilities:

  • Work flexible hours - Mostly weekday, 9-5.
  • Take professional pictures on location and at the studio, using studio lighting
  • Ability to do event photography and video outside of normal business hours
  • Work closely with clients and colleagues to produce high-quality content
  • Be open to learning, growing and helping others to do the same.
  • Ability to operate any kind of camera or light out there.


Requirement:

  • Business Liability Insurance
  • Digital SLR & portrait lens, 70-200 lens, 50mm, 105+ and all of the other fun lighting & video gear to make people look great.
  • Gimble and basic audio gear
  • Drone liecense is a bonus


Qualifications:

  • Significant photography experience as a lead photographer & videographer, a minimum of 6 years. (no newbies)
  • Extensive experience in directing people in a portrait setting, small and large groups
  • Experience doing video interviews
  • Expert-level knowledge in both artificial and natural lighting.
  • Customer focus with a desire to over-deliver on quality
  • Able to follow instructions clearly to achieve desired results
  • Flexible to travel to locations as required of the job using your own vehicle.
  • Ability to think on the spot and problem solve
  • Must have a growth mindset and the humility to take and welcome critique
  • Strong communication, people, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with people who look like realtors and doctors (as opposed to brides and models)


Initially, there are no promised hours within this position, but we estimate 5-10 hours a week based upon need. If all ends up being a fit, your hours will grow and we'll move you to an employee position with consistent hours with flexibility to still do your own thing on the side.


Pay:

Pay is $50-$75, depending on experience. If all is a fit, there is room to grow.

Think: $1300-2600 a month or $15k-$32k a year starting out, for part time hours.


Location:

You must live in Denver to apply and have supplemental work (your own photography biz is great)
