LaSalle Network has partnered with a government agency in their search for a Senior Human Resources Project Manager. This person will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the government project by effectively managing the human capital and fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.

The Senior Human Resources Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all human resources aspects of a large government project. This position requires a seasoned HR professional with extensive project management experience, particularly in government settings. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR principles and practices and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.

Senior Human Resources Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR project plans and strategies aligned with the overall project objectives. Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure HR initiatives support project goals and timelines
  • Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, including HR specialists and recruiters. Provide guidance and support to ensure effective execution of HR activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process for project staff, including identifying staffing needs, developing job descriptions, conducting interviews and facilitating orientation programs. Develop strategies for talent retention and succession planning.
  • Implement performance management systems and processes to monitor and evaluate employee performance. Provide guidance to project managers and supervisors on performance feedback, coaching and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, grievances, and conflicts. Work closely with project leadership and legal counsel to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify training needs and develop learning and development programs for project staff. Facilitate training sessions and workshops on HR-related topics as necessary
  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures consistent with government regulations and project requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards
  • Lead change management initiatives to support organizational transitions and promote a positive work culture. Communicate effectively with project staff to address concerns and promote understanding of HR-related changes
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders, including government officials, contractors and external partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address HR-related issues and ensure alignment with project objectives
  • Manage HR budgets and resources effectively to support project goals within allocated funds. Monitor expenses, analyze variances and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives


Senior Human Resources Project Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification highly desirable
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a project management role
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and regulations, particularly in government settings
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and managing complex projects
  • Proficiency in HRIS, project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
