Job Description

The System Specialist will be supporting The Client of Planning, Client Services, Roadway Information GIS Section (RIGIS).
Required Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:
• Must be knowledgeable in the English language and be able to speak clearly and understandably
• 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study
• Perform accurate data production, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy, identifying and correcting errors or omissions in the data (4 Years)
• Strong grasp of the fundamental principles, methods, and procedures used in data acquisition, management, analysis, and visualization in a GIS environment (4 Years)
• Able to utilize appropriate software tools and procedures to process and analyze data (4 Years)
• Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) (4 Years)
• Strong communication and oral and written skills. Possess strong meeting and work session skills
• Can work independently and as part of a team, the ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines
• Have excellent organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Demonstrate proven experience in troubleshooting with little supervision
Highly Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge of transportation system (roadway attributes / network)
• Experience in Roadway Data collection and processing
• ESRI ArcPro
• Linear Referencing Systems knowledge
This position will function as a highly skilled System Specialist with specific responsibilities that include:
• Primarily responsible for reviewing field collected roadway characteristics data for HPMS and MIRE Data Collection project.
• Analyze, edit and update collected data.
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure data accuracy
• Analyzing data for trends that may affect data quality
• Utilize source data such as aerial imagery, PathWeb, and street view
• Adhere to agency data standards
• Coordinate with vendor to identify and correct data discrepancies
