Join the team at For All Seasons, a well-respected, Non-Profit Behavioral Health and Rape Crisis Center. In this leadership role, you will manage the Accounting and Finance department. As the Chief Financial Officer, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide the departmental team. You will also make key decisions and challenge, negotiate, and influence the team. The ideal candidate is approachable, participatory, helpful, and a champion for teamwork and positive change, and will provide outstanding supervision through management of self and others with urgency, practicality, and accountability. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the accounting and human resources team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the agency’s senior leaders in formulating the company’s future direction to develop key performance indicators (KPI) that support the company’s strategic direction.
- Managing high-level financial reporting, preparing financial reports, managing financial forecasts, and establishing short and long-term financial goals.
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape and applying best practices.
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.
- Maintain collaborative, in-depth relations with all members of the management team, participating in cross-functional teams as needed.
- Manage the accounting and tax elements of the job.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts reconciliations, and the issuance of financial information.
- Supervise the Director of Administrative Operations and collaborate with finance team members.
- Report financial reports to the President/CEO.
- Ensure that compliance and record-keeping meet the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
- Monitor cash balances, day-to-day cash flow, and cash forecasts.
- Oversee financial accounting for all company benefit offerings.
- Oversee the Grants Department and grant reporting for the agency.
- Manage accounting and financial planning activities, including budgeting.
- Maintain and update the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting.
- Oversee all financial reporting and appropriate accounting policies and controls, including tax returns.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Perform other management and professional accounting or financial functions as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a comprehensive and working understanding of Non-Profit Accounting.
- A strong foundation in grants management and accounting.
- A strong foundation in accounting software, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills, accounting, and tax preparation software.
- Ability to have a global perspective while maintaining day-to-day processes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required, Master’s preferred.
- 15 years or more of related experience in Accounting and/or Finance is required, with at least five years at a senior level.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience.
