Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and reporting cyber threats as well as assist in deterring, identifying, monitoring, investigating, and analyzing computer network intrusions
  • Assess adequate access controls based on principles of least privilege and need-to-know.
  • Implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed.
  • Provides cybersecurity recommendations to leadership based on significant threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and take necessary actions to mitigate potential risks.
  • Maintain incident response plans and protocols to address security breaches.
  • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, security technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and other teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all systems and applications.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on security-related issues and best practices.
  • Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and implement patches and updates.
  • Skills in performing ethical hacking and penetration testing to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Providing support during assigned shifts, including nights/weekends, with work on-site.
  • May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MC:SOAA, CCSP, and CEH) preferred.
  • While this is a remote, salaried position, this role will require some availability after regular hours, including some weekends, due to the remote workforce being in different time zones, and part-time staff working on weekends.
  • Proven experience working as a Cyber Security Specialist or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with Network Security, firewalls, antivirus software, and other cybersecurity tools such as an understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other network security technologies.
  • Proficiency in securing various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of cybersecurity tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), antivirus software, endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, and forensic tools, -preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts clearly and understandably.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with various operating systems.
  • Professional work experience in analyzing computer hardware and software.
  • Up-to-date understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving cybersecurity landscapes and adjust security strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of information and break them down into consumable solutions.
  • Understanding of project management processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in planning and resource management.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining integrity in handling sensitive information and security incidents.
