MRO Maintenance Buyer

Description

The MRO Buyer is a member of the Maintenance Department and will coordinate requirements in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment. The MRO Buyer will initiate contracts with Key Suppliers while interfacing with end-users in the Company. They will purchase various supplies, services, and equipment while assuring a high level of quality and cost-effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Select appropriate vendors/suppliers, negotiate prices, and purchase parts and materials by effectively communicating all necessary information.
  • Review requisitions, quotes, and all applicable specifications before requesting quotes to ensure proper ordering of parts and materials.
  • Initiate/maintain contracts with key MRO suppliers to ensure costs are optimized for spot buys.
  • Understand and implement online ordering for key suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors/suppliers.
  • Work with other departments to communicate purchasing timelines, and order status, or to gain necessary clarification for ordering parts/materials.
  • Perform expediting tasks by following up with vendors to ensure POs have been received and to confirm a timeline for delivery, etc.
  • Assist the Purchasing Department by finding and developing new sourcing opportunities.
  • Assist Finance & Receiving on all related inquiries.

Position is Monday through Friday - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred but not required
  • 2+ Years of previous buyer or comparable experience preferred
