MRO Maintenance Buyer Chelsea, MA Description The MRO Buyer is a member of the Maintenance Department and will coordinate requirements in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment. The MRO Buyer will initiate contracts with Key Suppliers while interfacing with end-users in the Company. They will purchase various supplies, services, and equipment while assuring a high level of quality and cost-effectiveness. Duties and Responsibilities Select appropriate vendors/suppliers, negotiate prices, and purchase parts and materials by effectively communicating all necessary information. Review requisitions, quotes, and all applicable specifications before requesting quotes to ensure proper ordering of parts and materials. Initiate/maintain contracts with key MRO suppliers to ensure costs are optimized for spot buys. Understand and implement online ordering for key suppliers. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors/suppliers. Work with other departments to communicate purchasing timelines, and order status, or to gain necessary clarification for ordering parts/materials. Perform expediting tasks by following up with vendors to ensure POs have been received and to confirm a timeline for delivery, etc. Assist the Purchasing Department by finding and developing new sourcing opportunities. Assist Finance & Receiving on all related inquiries.
