Seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Designer (I&C Designer) to work with a leading EPC specializing in Refinery, Oil and Gas mega projects. Duties and Responsibilities of the I&C Engineer includes:


  • Develop engineering designs as part of the Instrumentation & Control team.
  • Development of P&ID's, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, Motor control schematics, I/O Lists, Instrument Location Drawings, conduit, cable tray, control narratives, Cause and effect diagrams,
  • Working knowledge of PLC's (modicon, GE, Rockwell) DCS (Honeywell, TPS, Experion, Foxboro), SIS (Triconix)
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
  • If required, assist and support junior personnel within the instrumentation & controls engineering team.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in instrumentation & controls engineering.
  • If required, act as the instrumentation & controls engineering Lead on specific projects.
  • May be required to provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Ensure all design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner.
  • Ensure all design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the client, or to agreed industry standards.

Experience/Skills

  • Over 9 years of Instrumentation and Control Design (I&C) and engineering expertise
  • Experience utilizing CAD to include Smartplant (SPI)
