1. Job Duty: Dedicated Service Contract

• Position: Field Technician (full‐time)

• Reports To: Regional Field Supervisor

• Department: Service

2. Essential Functions:

The HVAC Service Technician will be the company’s expert in‐charge on the job‐site, responsible for

performing Start‐up / Repair work / Preventative Maintenance on world class indoor HVAC equipment.

3. Responsibilities and Duties:

Technical Duties:

• Validate / update the end user contact information on file

• Conduct on‐site equipment Start‐up / repair work

• Inspect the equipment and make changes / repairs as required

• 24/7 remote monitoring capability – units will be monitored regularly

• 24/7 on-site service emergency service provided within 10 hours, typically within 8 hours for

emergencies

• Perform 32-point prevention check-ups 4 times per year

• Perform a more extensive 62-point equipment analysis 2 times per year

• Available for telephone support 24/7, 365 days per year

• Emergency response repairs will be executed within 10 hours or less.

Non‐technical Duties:

• Demonstrate a professional attitude while keeping the company's interests in mind

• Document risks and issues proactively from job‐site and expedite resolution to mitigate warranty

and repair work either independently or by coordinating with the Service Manager

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders on the job‐site (end

user, engineers, installing contractors, etc.)

• Obtain end user feedback on the customer service experience

• Participate in monthly review meetings and provide feedback from the field for continuous

improvement

4. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must have broad spectrum of knowledge in commercial HVAC, energy recovery, and heat

transfer products

• Demonstrated skills in electrical controls will be preferred

• Must enjoy working with electro‐mechanical components and controls

• Ability to use basic hand tools

• Ability to travel on overnight trips on a regular basis

• Ability to travel between US / Canada for training

• Ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills, processes, and concepts for career

development within the company

• Able to juggle multiple priorities at same time without being overwhelmed

• Can innovate solutions to problems and present feasible alternatives in the face of obstacles

• Knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, Internet, and any ERP program

• Has excellent communication skills – both written, verbal and presenting to senior leadership

• Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team locally and remotely

• Qualifications:

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma; HVAC or HRAC Technology; or Building Systems

Engineering Diploma

• Min. 2 yrs. of HVAC and Control Systems experience OR any equivalent combination of

experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been

achieved

• 1‐2 years of related design, production, or service experience will be advantageous, but not

necessary

• Must have a valid Air Conditioning & Refrigerant recovery certificate/license

• Gas certificate/license will be preferred, but not necessary

• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean abstract

• Physical Requirements:

Ability to regularly sit, stand, use hands to touch, feel, or transport documents and/or product

• Travel to Dedicated Job Site Required: Up to 75%
