SVP of Asset Management - MUST HAVE RETAIL ASSET CLASS EXPERIENCE PREFERABLY FROM AN OWNER


Multi-national commercial real estate development and management company focused on high-quality urban retail and mixed-use properties is seeking a SVP of Asset Management to focus on US real estate assets located on the east coast.

This position will be responsible for oversight of asset management, leasing, operations, and strategic business plan execution for the Company’s real estate. This position will operate and manage their portfolio as the “owner” of multiple properties and will also contribute to matters related to the acquisition, financing, and redevelopment of a rapidly growing real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of asset management, leasing, and operations of an urban retail and mixed-use portfolio, managing the day-to-day execution of the business plan
  • Review and analyze financial performance, and prepare comprehensive asset business plans (including oversight of internal forecasting and financial modeling with analyst team); identify value creation opportunities to improve operating results in the portfolio to drive growth
  • Direct miscellaneous tasks that relate to the asset such as lease renewals, tenant construction and coordination, lender approvals/requests, and negotiating contracts and agreements with vendors, tenants, brokers, and licensors
  • Negotiate leases and contracts with various service providers
  • Communicate results and key property initiatives, strategic alternatives, and suggestions to executive team
  • Oversee both third party property management and leasing brokers or potential in-house management/leasing hires
  • In conjunction with the executive team, work on key property redevelopments and contribute to the design, entitlement process, project management, and financial review of the renovations/redevelopments
  • Coordinate with internal accounting team and review reporting and property valuations, as well as the annual budget review and approval process
  • Interact directly with tenants and leasing prospects as needed as the owners rep

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in the commercial real estate industry required in asset management, portfolio management, property management and/or development
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Commercially driven and ability to negotiate contracts and key business matters
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, as well as strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and flexible
  • Ability to work independently, but maintain a collaborative working style
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and keep a comprehensive understanding of key company priorities
  • Experience with multiple asset classes and urban properties a plus
  • Demonstrated creativity to drive results in the face of an evolving retail market
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook required
  • Knowledge of Argus Enterprise and MRI a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to visit properties
