Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a flexible and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist. This role requires adaptability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have some experience in credit and collections, or at minimum, be comfortable with technology and eager to learn new software.

Key Responsibilities:
* Submit invoices into customer portals.
* Engage in collection efforts for specific accounts and dispute chargebacks when necessary.
* Assist with credit requests when analysts are handling high volumes.
* Provide coverage for AR duties when team members are out of the office.
* Send PDF invoices to customers upon request.
* Add and follow up on Proof of Delivery (POD) requests in the SharePoint system.
* Submit invoices through company portals.
* Monitor and reprocess failed credit card transactions or escalate as needed.
* Perform AR clean-up tasks, including creating and supporting AR adjustments.
* Handle AR adjustments.
* Conduct initial Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) pulls for new accounts or accounts requiring credit limit changes.
* Monitor D&B alerts and notify analysts of immediate action items.
* Proactively address credit limit issues by collaborating with Sales to review seasonal contracts before the first order.

Qualifications:
* Experience in accounts receivable, credit, and collections is a plus, but not required.
* Comfortable with technology and able to learn new software quickly.
* Proficiency in systems like SAP, SAGE, NetSuite, or QuickBooks is an advantage.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle priorities that may shift daily.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
* Intermediate Excel skills are preferred.
