Strategic Communications and Outreach Specialist, Mid

The Opportunity:

The key to an organization‘s growth and success is strong stakeholder communication that represents and supports its mission, values, and objectives. Whether it‘s identifying target audiences, recognizing engagement and outreach opportunities, executing communications strategies, or flexing to support an emerging requirement, our clients need a consultant who can support the full lifecycle of communications and outreach planning and execution in a fast-paced environment. We‘re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you‘ll advance your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and collaborate on a variety of internal and external communication materials and outreach opportunities to engage audiences.

As part of our team, you‘ll serve as a strategic technical consultant to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You will work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society‘s most challenging health problems. You‘ll leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You‘ll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assist with the management of current programs, and facilitate commercialization of successfully developed technologies.

You‘ll serve as a Strategic Communications and Outreach Specialist, helping clients to develop stakeholder engagement strategies, prepare for and execute communications and outreach events, establish new business processes, and complete research and analysis to determine viable solutions. You will be responsible for managing incoming requirements, facilitating engagements within and across the Agency, and be readily available to shift your focus to fulfill emerging client requests. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client‘s mission, and problem-solving skill will enable the mission‘s success. This position is a hybrid role with Booz Allen. The candidate is expected to work onsite at a Booz Allen or client facility 20-50% of the time, as needed.

What You‘ll Work On:

  • Develop effective communications products targeted to different technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Coordinate and execute engagement communications, logistics, scheduling, and strategic planning for outreach efforts.

  • Interact with clients, government officials, and other executives in various sectors.
