Job Summary

The Network Operations Center Engineer (Tier 2) provides customer and internal escalation support for advanced telecom and network related issues. The Tier 2 NOC Engineer directly supports a global environment. Candidate must be flexible to work shift hours and be available for one weekend day (Sat or Sun). This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits. A successful candidate will be a quick thinker, able to multitask several issues at once and fast learner.

Job Description

Work Location/Schedule

  • Must be comfortable working onsite in the Plano, TX office 4x/week
  • Candidate must be flexible to work shift hours and be available for one weekend day (Sat or Sun). 
  • Amenable to work on a shifting schedule - Morning/Night Shift

How you'll make an impact

  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues such as SDWAN, MPLS, NaaS, IPSec, IES and Cloud Troubleshoot issues with external customers and network/telecom providers
  • Work with service providers and vendors to drive issues to resolution
  • Carry out maintenance activities according to engineering MOP’s
  • Perform router and firewall activations for new and existing customers
  • Perform test and troubleshooting of T1, E1, DS3, OC3, OC12 and high capacity Ethernet circuits
  • Investigate and complete reason for outage (RFO) reports on all network outages
  • Mentor and help train Tier I NOC Analysts
  • Accept external/internal customer calls, vendors, and partners
  • Perform special projects, network audits
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

  • Nokia NRS II
  • Fortinet NSE 4/7
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience working in complex LAN/WAN/WLAN support or implementation role. Preferably with previous experience in the service provider business facing enterprise/corporate customers. (Implementation/troubleshooting responsibilities include Core, Edge and Premise routers, switches, firewalls and NIDs)
  • Amenable to work on a shifting schedule/ Night Shift

Bachelor's Degree
