National Grid is seeking a Senior Construction Planning Coordinator for our Albany, NY location.

Job Purpose

To manage construction work and resource assignments in the most efficient, cost-effective way to meet the work plan for National Grid based on workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization and schedule optimization.


Key Accountabilities

  • Produce schedules in support of the internal construction work force for the New York Electric maintenance and construction annual workplan
  • Work with resource planning to monitor resource levels, capacity predictions, productivity, and plan progress to make resource recommendations and analyze trends
  • Conduct weekly scheduling meetings with electric operations to ensure all stakeholders are aligned
  • Review and order non-par stock materials to ensure availability and coordinate deliveries to support construction and equipment maintenance per job specifications
  • Implement best practice in resource management to ensure all work and safety standards are compliant with National Grid, union policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prioritize and monitor work progress through each phase of construction
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative and ability to interact with stakeholders to solve problems in a positive and collaborative manner
  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to improve, driving greater efficiencies


Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Experience of managing project teams and projects independently.
  • Able to use direct persuasion to influence others to accept proposals.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in an engineering/ business related field or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience required
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of National Grid’s business operations, company policies and practices preferred
  • Proficiency in STORMS, SAP, Microsoft Office Products
  • Familiar with Distribution Line and Substation work methods
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to divisional offices and other locations as required
  • Responsible for supporting activities during Storm (weather) emergencies
  • Advanced planning skills including the ability to prioritize assignments
  • Able to use direct persuasion to influence others to accept proposals

Target Salary - $100,000 a year
