Position Overview

As a Construction Estimator at Verardi Landscapes LLC, you will play a critical role in our project acquisition process. You will be responsible for reviewing bid documents, preparing accurate cost estimations, sourcing and soliciting bids from subcontractors, and participating in preconstruction meetings. Your expertise will help us ensure competitive and profitable bids while maintaining our high standards of quality and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review Bid Documents: Thoroughly analyze and interpret bid documents, including blueprints, specifications, and scope of work to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Prepare Estimations: Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. Ensure all estimates are accurate, detailed, and competitive.
  • Source and Solicit Bids: Identify and reach out to potential subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids for various aspects of landscaping projects. Evaluate and compare bids to select the most suitable partners.
  • Preconstruction Meetings: Participate in preconstruction meetings with project stakeholders to discuss project scope, objectives, and any potential issues. Provide insights and recommendations based on your estimations and experience.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis and variance reports to track project performance against estimates. Make adjustments as necessary to ensure project profitability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other team members to ensure alignment between estimations and project execution. Address any discrepancies or changes promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all estimations, bids, and correspondence related to the bidding process. Ensure documentation is organized and accessible for future reference.


Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the landscaping industry.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction estimating or project management are a plus.
