Role Summary:
We are in search of a skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our Building Group in Pittsburgh. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of project estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project estimates and budgeting activities.
  • Participate in on-site pre-bid and proposal meetings, as well as site evaluations.
  • Generate comprehensive and precise estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontracts, and construction facilities.
  • Develop scopes of work for various trades to guarantee thoroughness for the project team.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor proposals to ensure optimal value.
  • Facilitate bid solicitation efforts to encourage vendor participation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Present cost estimates in accordance with client requests for proposals, factoring in general and special conditions.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database with cost codes for historical reference.
  • Address common inquiries or issues from clients and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in estimating construction projects valued between $5 million and $100 million.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, emphasizing teamwork and innovation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capability to interpret and organize construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work autonomously while exercising sound judgment.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Experience with various bid styles, including Lump Sum, Competitive Bid, Cost Plus, and Negotiated/GMP, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, OST, Planswift, ICE/MC2, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, P6, Building Connected, and Procore is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local market is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Relevant experience in new construction projects across sectors such as office, healthcare, multi-unit residential, higher education, and retail is preferred.
