They are seeking a talented IT Systems Administrator to join their dynamic team.


This hybrid role requires working on-site 2 days per week in Farmingdale, New York, offering the ideal balance of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.


About the Role:

As an IT Systems Administrator, you will manage and maintain a broad range of systems, including Windows, Linux, NAS devices, and network endpoints. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting connectivity issues, implementing system updates, developing patch management strategies, and contributing to disaster recovery planning.


You'll collaborate closely with teams across networking, security, and systems administration to ensure optimal performance and security of the company’s infrastructure. If you thrive on problem-solving and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update systems, including Windows, IBM i, SAN, NAS, backup devices, and Linux.
  • Collaborate with networking and x86 teams to resolve system connectivity and communication issues.
  • Respond to incidents, events, and outages as needed.
  • Manage and support a fleet of 80+ NAS devices and monitor daily server backups.
  • Develop and execute a patch and firmware update strategy for various systems.
  • Implement tools for system performance management.
  • Maintain and update the documentation repository (How-to docs, runbooks, etc.).
  • Assist with identity and access management and security posture improvements.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and exercises.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers to implement, upgrade, and troubleshoot systems.
  • Stay current with new technologies and implement them as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to streamline operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology field is preferred.
  • Experience with servers in physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
  • Familiar with shell scripting, automation, and orchestration technologies.
  • Understanding of HA/Disaster Recovery, including server replication and failover testing.
  • Experience with patch management and systems maintenance.
  • Knowledge of firewall administration and security fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies.
  • Basic project management skills.
