A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Cardiology (preferred) or a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Cardiology nurse, Telemetry, or ICU


Current, unrestricted New Mexico APC License required and maintained current throughout employment


Graduate from an accredited Acute Care or Family APC Master’s Program


Board Certified


ACLS/BLS American Heart Association Certification


Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirement


Possess strong professional, personable, and motivational personality that builds strong relationships with patients


Strong Knowledge and interest in current techniques, advancements, and trends in the field of cardiology


Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Outlook and familiarity with electronic health record systems


Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with practice leadership, physicicans, advanced practitioners, colleagues, and other HCMC and TPS team members


Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with all members of the care team, and with patients and family members

POSITION PURPOSE


This position is responsible for evaluating and treating patients, providing post procedural care, able to recognize and interpret arrhythmias, basic knowledge of the physiology and anatomy of the heart.


The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) collaborates seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams, including practitioners and management, to deliver comprehensive and compassionate cardiology care in the outpatient clinic setting. By working synergistically, the APC:


- Provides high-quality, patient-centered care, leveraging expertise in cardiology to diagnose, treat, and manage complex cardiovascular conditions


- Develops and implements personalized care plans, aligning with evidence-based guidelines and best practices


- Facilitates effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions and continuum of care


- Contributes to quality improvement initiatives, driving excellence in patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction


- Supports education and research efforts, staying current with the latest cardiology advancements and guidelines to enhance clinical practice


- Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
