Facilities Coordinator IIThe Utah Department of Corrections' Facilities & Maintenance Bureau is seeking a motivated Facilities Coordinator II. This exciting promotional opportunity involves leading a team of skilled tradesmen. Being the resident expert for all things related to the operations and maintenance of the assigned facilities.Preference will be given to current employees of the Facilities & Maintenance Bureau of the Utah Department of Corrections.Principle Duties As the Faculties Coordinator II, you will:comply with all State Laws, rules, and regulations.follow the guidelines of State Purchasing.act as a liaison for UDC Facilities Bureau and coordinate assigned projects and responsibilities.keep accurate documentation.submit and oversee UDC B-1 applications.review and edit construction plans and drawings.perform frequent on site construction and remodel visits.monitor project specific budgets and spending to ensure the project holds to estimated budgets.provide Capital Facilities Requests for respective fiscal year.participate and/or lead project planning sessions.coordinating staff and internal resources with DPO and the Facilities & Maintenance Bureau.track projects progress and adapt scheduling/work as required.ensure project meets deadlines.manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation.participate in tender process i.e. design, submission and review.make decisions to minimize risk.conduct project review and creating detailed reports for Facilities leadership.optimize and improve processes and the overall approach where necessary.secure opportunities and initiating new projects.manage large and diverse teams.perform other duties as assigned.The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has:experience with Capital Facilities Requests.experience team leads on site construction projects and maintenance activities.knowledge of State Purchasing guidelines.Preference may be given to those who have Specialty Training, Trade Skill or Constructions Management experience and have an understanding of construction terms and processes to follow during a project.Why You Should Join Our Team This is an exciting opportunity for you to advance in your career, work with a great team and learn new skills within the UDC.Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):3 medical plan options. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.Paid Time Off:Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).Annual leave amounts increase with years of service.We have 12 paid holidays.A typical day will not be like any other day. On a typical day, you may:check and respond to emailsmake phone calls to line up contractorsgather information for BCI checkcomplete search for repair partssubmit for purchasing quotes and bidsgather information for State Purchasing - Scope of Work in regards to large purchase'sescort vendors on projectsreview plan for upcoming project and create a gantt chartThis is NOT a POST certified position.Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g., being subject to possible physical attack Safety and risk issues inherit while working and training within a correctional facility with an inmate population are presumed.Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
