What role you will play in our team

  • Serve as project focal point for execution of equipment and material procurement, commercial evaluation, award, expediting, logistics planning and execution, field materials management and EPC Subcontracting.
  • Lead bidding and award of long lead equipment packages
  • The PPA will also focus on site-specific service contracts, materials agreements and scope bundling opportunities to drive efficiencies and cost savings across their portfolio
  • This position regularly engages with disciplines such as Engineering, Quality and Construction to ensure cross-functional awareness of status and issue mitigation efforts
  • PPA will collaborate with project Engineering, Supply Chain and Payables organizations to ensure purchase order close out and invoice payment on timely basis
  • Position is office-based in Houston, working with our Unconventional O&G portfolio of capital projects

What you will do

  • Serve as project focal point for execution of equipment and material procurement, commercial evaluation, award, expediting, logistics planning and execution, field materials management and EPC Subcontracting for the Unconventional Projects team.
  • Lead efforts to obtain and communicate global market intel and project sourcing best practices to project team; engage with EM Global Procurement (Equipment & Materials, Global Sourcing, etc. to support).
  • Finalize Long Lead Equipment (LLE) list and procurement schedule, incorporating considerations such as lead time, construction sequence or early vendor data needs. Lead execution of LLE purchase commitments.
  • Finalize project equipment list and major subcontract list, including associated commercial strategies, aligned bidder(s) lists, schedules for bid and award, and key evaluation criteria
  • Oversee execution of procurement activities for full slate of equipment list, from package preparation to bidding, evaluation, award, expediting, logistics execution and delivery to site.
  • The PPA will also develop portfolio service contracts, materials agreements and scope bundling opportunities to drive efficiencies and cost savings across their portfolio.
  • Leverage relationships with supplier community and Category Management to escalate and mitigate order execution issues in a timely and effective manner. This position regularly engages with disciplines such as Engineering, Quality and Construction to ensure cross-functional awareness of status and issue mitigation efforts.
  • PPA will collaborate with project Engineering, Supply Chain and Payables organizations to ensure purchase order close out and invoice payment on timely basis.
  • Position is office-based in Houston, working with our Unconventional O&G portfolio of capital projects. To effectively deliver the above responsibilities, occasional business travel may be required to work with our internal teams, EPC contractors, visit field offices or vendor sites, etc. Global Projects Procurement and Global Projects collaborate with teams around the world to deliver projects

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degree
  • Strong collaboration, analytical and communication skills
  • A minimum of 5 years of capital project experience with EPC contractor or large operator
  • A minimum of 5 years of O&G supply chain / procurement / sales experience
  • Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Adaptable to schedule changes and assumptions, new engineering needs, evolving conditions, and supply chain requirements

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Experience supporting upstream O&G projects and/or activities, especially unconventional O&G
  • General procurement / commercial functional expertise
  • Equipment and Material category / commodity expertise
  • Preparing and reviewing Procurement Plans, Material Management and Subcontracting Plans
  • Ensure proper execution of RFQ's, sealed bids and related duties (includes analysis/evaluations)
  • Knowledge of end-to-end purchase-to-pay process (ERP systems)
  • Extensive interaction with internal business teams (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Construction) to clarify requirements, agree on procurement tactic, email and address queries and issues
  • Extensive interaction with external suppliers to negotiate and award contracts and address queries and issues
  • International, cross-cultural experience
  • Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills
  • Experience driving implementation of global and regional strategies/best practices at the business unit level
  • Leadership skills: set standards, create clarity, promote innovation, inspire and motivate, and compete to win
