Job Title: Operations Manager – Environmental Abatement and Demolition

Job Purpose:

The Operations Manager provides oversight for environmental abatement and demolition projects, including asbestos, lead, mold, and structural demolition. This role involves managing operations, technical support, and field oversight, and may require occasional travel to nearby markets.

Essential Functions:

  • Project Management:
  • Manage equipment and labor for major large projects or multiple smaller projects.
  • Coordinate with other branches to share labor and equipment resources.
  • Plan labor, equipment, and hauling for multiple projects, crews, and project managers.
  • Assist project managers with lodging arrangements for field labor through the corporate account with CLC.
  • Customer and Communication:
  • Maintain a productive interface with customers (e.g., general contractors, owners).
  • Communicate effectively with field staff, project management, and branch management.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Work with the safety department to coordinate training, implementation of safety programs, and compliance.
  • Assist with branch company trucks and DOT compliance.
  • Team and Resource Management:
  • Manage warehouse staff, inventory, and supply deliveries.
  • Train and mentor field construction personnel.
  • Identify risks that could cause legal, financial, or contractual harm.
  • Vendor Relations:
  • Solicit and procure favorable pricing with vendors for equipment and supplies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in contracting, construction, remediation, and demolition preferred.
  • Proven experience coordinating project crews effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Understanding of equipment preferred.
  • Must pass background check and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Supervises laborers and labor leaders.

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment with significant fieldwork.
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and extreme construction site conditions.
  • Requires walking across rugged terrain, climbing heights, and working over/on water.
  • Loud noise levels and adverse weather conditions are common.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand for extended periods, and perform strenuous labor.
  • Requires good manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, and the ability to move quickly.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time position with occasional long hours, holidays, and weekend work.

Travel:

  • Travel as required for project support.
