Designs and architects Cloud native applications using\u00A0 Amazon Web Services (AWS). Automates the integration of code changes from multiple contributors into a single software project using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices and open source platforms. Designs, builds, and supports infrastructure and security technologies within public Cloud. Installs and maintains vendor products with complex infrastructure requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems: Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing Cloud applications in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems: Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing Cloud applications in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) developing automated Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and managing resources -- EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) -- in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud via CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • DE in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) analyzing, designing, implementing, and performing version control, artifact management, automated build-deploy, configuration management, disaster recovery, and post installation validation using Docker, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, and Concourse according to Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • DE developing operational tools using scripting languages Shell, Python, and Groovy to automate repetitive tasks and streamline the deployment and management of applications.
  • DE in automated logging and monitoring using CloudWatch and SQS to track potential system outages and notify the development team; and creating custom dashboards and metrics for EKS platforms to swiftly identify and remediate issues using Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
