About the role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and experienced Litigation Attorney, who is licensed in the state of Illinois for a contract to hire position. The successful candidate will represent our clients in all stages of the litigation process and will be involved in a variety of practice areas including labor and employment, personal injury, construction, probate, and civil rights violations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct all phases of civil litigation including jury trials, motions, and arbitration.
  2. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
  3. Evaluate findings and develop defense or prosecution strategies.
  4. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes, and assist in alternative dispute resolution efforts.
  5. Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, pleadings, emotions and briefs.
  6. Maintain regular contact with clients, and uphold high standards of client service.
  7. Coordinate the case handling with claims personnel.

Qualifications:

  1. Applicant must be licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
  2. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  3. Proven record of strong client-focused service mentality.
  4. Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience.
  5. Extensive knowledge in all phases of civil litigation including jury trials, motions, and arbitration.
  6. Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  8. Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.

This is a contract to hire position. The successful candidate must be confident working on a broad range of legal matters, and comfortable handling a large workload under tight deadlines.
