Desktop Application Analyst

Planet Technology is seeking a senior Desktop Applications Manager for a full-time role in Manhattan. This will be a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and two days a week remote. Experience in a law firm or professional setting is required.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Microsoft Office suite of application and consult on issues and initiatives related to Microsoft Office providing 3rd level support.
  • Manage desktop application systems and consult on desktop application issues and initiatives providing 3rd level support.
  • Provide advanced Microsoft Office 365 support and guidance.
  • Work directly with various practice areas and departments including but not limited to Business Intake and Marketing to implement any changes to the firm macros and templates.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all support relating to the Microsoft Office Suite and other core and non-core firm applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Browser applications, Document Creation applications and other applications
  • Troubleshoot common issues, error messages and installation problems with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot (when needed) all application integrations within the Microsoft Office Suite such as Filesite, Workshare, Power PDF and CRM.
  • Assisting with the evaluation, selection and implementation of new desktop application products.
  • Assist in the management of the Desktop Applications annual budget. Assist the team to ensure software licensing is accurate and up-to-date.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of working experience with Office Productivity applications including Microsoft Office, document comparison/review applications and Portable Document Format (PDF) applications
  • Experience working with legal applications including document management and document assembly systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity and ability to use Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools
  • Strong communication, technology, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Possess vendor management skills
  • Client-focused with the ability to develop good relationships
  • Experienced technical lead who can contribute to the success of the Information Technology team
  • High level of discretion, comfortable handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills
