Job Overview

We are seeking an Outside Sales Engineer / Sales Manager to develop and implement effective sales strategies and manage the outside sales team. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, sales acumen, and a creative but budget-conscious approach. Proficiency in planning and executing sales, marketing, and product development programs is required. Comprehensive training on our product lineup and systems, particularly within the sanitary food manufacturing sector, will be provided to ensure industry-specific expertise.


Key Responsibilities

•            Develop strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives.

•            Gain in-depth product and industry knowledge.

•            Lead the sales team effectively, utilizing CRM tools. 

•            Ensure the outside sales team is completing and logging their activities in CRM.

•            Use the ERP System in writing quotations that will be turned into orders by our Inside Sales Team (training will be provided with our Sage 100 ERP).

•            Build and maintain positive client relationships, including negotiating and closing major sales, and respond promptly to sales leads.

•            Collaborate closely with the engineering team on product installations.

•            Monitor market trends and competitors' products.

•            Conduct cold calls and follow up on sales leads.

•            Manage trade show participation, including coordinating the registration, setup and running our exhibit booth.

•            Manage and review the day-to-day operations of the outside sales teams, reporting directly to the Director of Sales, and meet weekly to review progress on accounts and address any arising issues.


Qualifications

•            Preferred: Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Chemical).

•            Experience of 3-5 years in technical sales and management.

•            Valid Driver’s License; extensive regional travel required.

•            Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
