Our client is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Manager to join their team. This newly created role is essential to re-establishing purchasing as a standalone function, separate from supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor two Buyers, providing guidance and support as they grow into their roles.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide accurate ETA on orders.
  • Work with operations teams to ensure the timely procurement of shop supplies, manufacturing components, and other critical materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to enhance the purchasing function.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze data, draw accurate conclusions, and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Handle and manipulate data using MS Excel, including merging data sets to produce meaningful insights.

Qualifications:

  • With a minimum of 6-8+ years of experience in purchasing, with a strong background in manufacturing.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to analyze and manipulate data to drive decision-making.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential; familiarity with Epicor is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales and operations teams, ensuring alignment across departments.
