We are seeking a Process Engineer with expertise in industrial manufacturing to optimize our production processes, enhance product quality, and increase operational efficiency, while having the ability to identify, assess, and deploy new equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rubber processing and a track record of evaluating and implementing new equipment solutions to improve manufacturing processes as well as implementing lean manufacturing solutions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

·        Process Optimization: Analyze and assess existing rubber manufacturing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and product quality.

·        Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed established quality standards.

·        Equipment Assessment: Identify opportunities to upgrade or replace existing manufacturing equipment and evaluate the potential benefits of new equipment.

·        New Equipment Deployment: Manage the process of selecting, procuring, and implementing new manufacturing equipment, ensuring seamless integration into existing processes.

·        Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality and implement cost-saving initiatives, including efficient equipment usage.

·        Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all manufacturing processes, including new equipment, comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.

·        Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, assess key performance indicators, and make data-driven decisions, including equipment performance metrics.

·        Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to address production issues, improve processes, and integrate new equipment effectively.

·        Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical specifications, and equipment-related records.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Advanced degrees are a plus.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other process improvement methodologies.

Experience in rubber manufacturing processes and equipment are a plus.

Proficiency in data analysis and the use of relevant software tools.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, or suppliers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Advanced mathematical skills including probability and statistics are required.
