MDC’s portfolio includes eco-friendly products, digital imaging solutions, paint/coatings, hand-crafted wall designs, dry-erase coatings, decorative wall panels, luxury textiles, foils, grasses, woods and vinyl.
Known for its ability to produce solutions that meet the needs of the design community, MDC has earned a reputation for innovative products, value, and service. New materials and technologies, along with its knowledgeable sales team, strengthen MDC’s industry leadership. MDC prides itself on being a committed single source, total solution provider.
MDC has more than 65 outside sales representatives, as well as additional sales support, reporting to four regional offices. The company’s sales efforts extend further through a worldwide distribution network. A staff of approximately 70 associates are located in MDC’s corporate headquarters.
Senior Accountant
Summary: Responsibilities include month-end closing tasks, daily tasks related to posting EFT receipts from customers (Wire Transfers & ACH’s) and daily billing tasks associated with our customers. Provide back up to other positions on the accounting team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly closing process.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements.
- Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Assist with preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Have familiarity with sales taxes and review returns as well as reconcile to General Ledger activity.
- Manage Sales & Use Tax filings with outside firm.
- File unclaimed property reports according to state guidelines.
- Work closely with other departments including Purchasing, Customer Care and Credit in resolving issues that affect their departments.
- Prepare schedules and provide other financial data requested by external auditors.
- Help identify opportunities to improve the process flow within the department.
- Assist others in the department as needed.

Education/Experience - Bachelor Degree in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred experience of at least 3 years in similar roles. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accrual-based recording.
Math Ability - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, freight, deductions, proportions, and percentages.
Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; collects and researches data; designs workflows and procedures.
Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; acquires knowledge of market and competition; aligns work with strategic goals.
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite of products including Word and Excel.
