Strategic Planner

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech company, is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration‘s System Wide Information Management (SWIM) in the role of Technical Advisor and Strategic Planner.
Responsibilities:
- Development of strategic & programmatic management plans & guidance documents, technical analyses & feasibility assessments, and enterprise integration support.
- Provide expertise in the analyses and assessments of SWIM program strategy and strategy components.
- Coordinate development of and review artifacts for AMS/JRC and other decision support activities and bodies.
- Collaborate with the SWIM Program Manager on program goals and activities.
- Interface with and support the SWIM management team as directed by the Program Manager.
- Provide liaison support to other FAA stakeholders such as AJM-1, AJM-3, ANG, ATO, AIT and others as directed by the PM.
- Provide engineering expertise and other technical support to ensure development, execution and evaluation of SWIM projects, systems, plans, and services.
- Provide Cloud Integration support of designs, implementation, and deployment activities for SWIM projects, systems, plans, and services requiring the use of Cloud technology.
- Review technical documents/plans, technical evaluations, testing/evaluation support, independent verification & validation, system modeling.
- Must reside in the DC/MD/VA (DMV) Region.
Education:
- Bachelor‘s degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field).
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated strategic planning support for Enterprise Programs and Initiatives.
- Ability to adapt quickly with dynamic and often competing priorities.
- Experience with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) including but not limited to develop of AMS related artifacts and or review of artifacts to support successful entry and exit of AMS decision points.
- Experience with project/program management to ensure deadlines and milestones are met.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suites (Power Point, Project, Word).
- Experienced in Enterprise Architecture (EA) Product Development such as Systems Views, Operational Views, Functional Analysis Documentation (FAD) and program requirements.
- Experience supporting/executing the FAA AMS process and decision points, having the ability to review both technical and financial documentation to provide recommendations.
Nice To Have:
- Experience with FAA standards is preferred.
- Experience with Application Programming Interface (API) integration, design, deployment, and architecture review/analysis.
Work Requirements:
- Work location: Remote work (Must reside in DC/MD/Virginia).
- Work Hours: Normal working hours; flexible.
- Travel: 0 - 20% (indicate amount of travel with position).
- Physical requirements:
- Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
- Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
- Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
- Background check: Must be able to pass government public trust investigation.

Compensation (Pay Bands):
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C.
