Triage Nurse

Job Summary:


Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 (No weekends of holidays)

The Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patients’ health conditions and determining the urgency of their needs. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and effective patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments to evaluate the urgency of care needed.


  • Collect and record patient information, including medical history and current symptoms.


  • Measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, blood pressure, and temperature.


  • Assign triage priorities based on assessment findings.


  • Communicate patient status and needs to physicians and other healthcare team members.


  • Update patient health information systems with accurate and timely notes.


  • Adhere to standards for infection control, sanitation, and patient safety.


  • Stay informed about advancements in emergency medicine and urgent care best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Active nursing license.


  • LPN or RN


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in triage or emergency nursing.


  • Strong medical assessment and critical thinking skills.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.


  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.


Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Strong problem-solving abilities.


  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.


  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records.
