Department/Unit: Vascular Surgery - M5 Work Shift: Night Salary Range: $88,192.00 - $136,697.60 Join Albany Medical Center, the first hospital in the US to achieve verification as a Comprehensive Vascular Surgical Center by the Society of Vascular Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Our two Vascular Surgery Units specialize in treating patients with vascular diseases and other surgical conditions requiring telemetry monitoring. Our diverse patient population ranges from acute to chronically ill individuals, primarily aged 45-65, and often presents with multiple co-morbidities. As a member of our dedicated nursing team, you will play a crucial role in fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for patients, their families, and your colleagues. Key Responsibilities: Implement physician orders, administer medications, initiate IVs, perform treatments, and ensure accurate documentation in accordance with policies and regulatory standards. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions effectively. Assess patient needs and responses to care, adjusting plans as necessary. Utilize sound nursing judgment for effective patient care management. Provide immediate and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administer medications as prescribed, including over-the-counter and prescription options. Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Care Plans for all patients. Guide and support ancillary personnel while maintaining high nursing standards. Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree). Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained. 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care preferred. Strong communication, organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills are essential. Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques is preferred.
