Job Summary:

Responsible for the comprehensive direct nursing care of all patients following established standards of care, hospital, and unit policies.

Primary Duties:
  • Delivers direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate.
  • Evaluates the holistic nursing needs of a designated patient group.
  • Manages the patient and family/significant other education process.
  • Consistently plans, executes, and assesses patient care, involving patient and family/significant other in the process.
  • Collaborates with physician colleagues and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other care plans.
  • Effectively communicates all pertinent information (e.g., patient data, safety concerns, equipment issues, quality matters, etc.) to immediate supervisor promptly.
  • Conveys and records changes in patient condition promptly to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  • Performs assigned tasks efficiently
License, Certification, Education, or Experience:
REQUIRED for the role:
Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of employment if applicable
State of Washington RN license
Current experience in Emergency Nursing patient care
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by hire date
Current American Heart Association ACLS Provider certification by hire date
PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire
TNCC within a year of hire

DESIRED for the role:
Master's degree in Nursing
Two years' experience in Emergency/trauma
Emergency nursing certification is preferred.

EvergreenHealth is dedicated to delivering top-notch care to our patients. Studies indicate that holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) significantly elevates care quality.

Therefore, this role mandates a BSN or a commitment to commence a BSN program within three years and complete it within five years of employment.

Kindly note, this BSN requirement does not apply to those with an RN license for two decades or more or existing EvergreenHealth RNs hired before April 1, 2014.

This role falls under a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth and the Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA). Membership in the union is discretionary.
