Transportation PlannerDarigold is seeking a motivated and experienced Transportation Planner to join our Bulk Milk Transportation team. As one of the largest farmer-owned co-ops and leaders in the dairy industry in the US, we have long recognized the importance of sustainable and responsible practices throughout our enterprise. Every year our Supply Chain team ensures successful delivery of over 9 billion pounds of milk from our farms to our plants across the Pacific Northwest. Once our milk is processed into products, like cheese and an assortment of beverages, our team ensures successful delivery to our consumers 365 days a year.In this role, the Transportation Planner is responsible for scheduling the shipment of raw milk supply from our farms and by-product milk commodities to our plants and third-party customers. The Transportation Planner plays a key role in ensuring successful movement of our core product by partnering with our third-party carriers in order to execute pickup and delivery on time.The ideal candidate for this role is a logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where you have multiple priorities to balance, enjoys thinking fast on your feet and is solution-oriented to "get the job done". You possess a strong sense of accountability and ownership, thrive in working closely and collaborating with a diverse community of customers, partners and stakeholders and is passionate about driving and delivering results.What You Will Do:Creates daily bulk shipment plans.Manages changes to the published shipment plan based on manufacturing supply & demand, weather, traffic and other circumstances.Proactively communicates with carriers and operating sites to reconcile shipment plans.Procures third-party transportation through established carrier network.Leads meetings with plant managers and plant personnel to help balance network.Monitors carrier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and work with carriers to implement corrective action plans.Audits and codes carrier invoices.Manages a large volume of email and text communications thoroughly.What You Bring:Bachelor's degree in supply chain, or other closely related field, or equivalent education and experience, or 4-6 years of relevant work experience.Experience managing inbound or outbound logistics in the food and beverage and/or transportation industry.Prior experience in a customer or supplier facing role.Understanding and knowledge of the transportation industry.Strong geographical knowledge.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite; with strong focus on Excel.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced, demanding work environment.Experience using Dairy.com is preferred.Works independently while contributing to a team environment.Proactively identifies and acts on problems before issues arise.Applies critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve complex problems.Excellent communication, both verbal and written.Demonstrates a keen attention to detail.Possesses an energetic, innovative, adaptable and well-organized mindset.Ability to maintain a calm and tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations.Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines with a sense of urgency.Identifies additional tasks to be completed and willingly assists others.Ability to address after-hour calls and emails as needed.Benefits of Working at Darigold:We understand that as an employee, benefits that support you and your family in and out of work are important.
