Zoom Technology Arizona is a closed-access fiber network provider. We deploy Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network infrastructure nationwide in specific neighborhoods and Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB). We construct, operate, and maintain the fiber network infrastructure. Our goal is to expand the business across the U.S., providing high-speed internet access and facilitating the digital transformation of underserved communities.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Fiber Design Planner to join our telecommunications team in Phoenix, Arizona. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and designing fiber optic networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design: Develop detailed plans for fiber optic network layouts, including the placement of cables and connection points.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support and guidance during the installation and maintenance of fiber optic systems.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and best practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network designs, configurations, and modifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and external vendors to ensure seamless network integration.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in fiber optic network design and planning.
  • Skills: Proficiency in fiber optic design software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of fiber optic technology, procedures, and equipment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Experience in planning, drawing (with exposure to CAD programs), and surveying. Proficiency in drafting with AutoCAD. Ability to work with external Planning departments, Project Managers, and Clients. Experience in designing OSP and ISP passive GPON/XGS-PON networks. Ability to develop basemaps from various data sets, including GIS, PDF, aerial mapping, and field notes. Experience interpreting Utility As-Builts (e.g., Water, Sewer, Electrical engineering As-Built designs). Ability to prepare and submit designs for approval to the Electrical utility company, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) are preferred.
