SUMMARY:

The IT Infrastructure Director is responsible for the strategic and operational management, coordination, and planning of internal and external networks with a strong emphasis on Azure cloud services. This role ensures the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of systems, resources, and controls to safeguard and protect facilities, assets, applications, and data in compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations. The director will lead efforts to enhance infrastructure performance, security, and availability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and resilience.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Azure Cloud Management:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions in Azure, leveraging best practices for security, cost management, and high availability.
  • Oversee the migration of on-premises systems and applications to the Azure cloud environment, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal configuration.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage all aspects of information technology infrastructure, including computer hardware, software, facilities, security, and network configurations.
  • Recommend, plan, and implement upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Resolve network performance issues and ensure maximum uptime (99%) by developing and maintaining an IT infrastructure that supports Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.

Information Security:

  • Develop, enforce, and update Information Security Policies, including ongoing regulatory requirements or actions.
  • Proactively monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats, ensuring the network's integrity and security by enforcing vendor contracts and upholding SLAs.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring tools to detect and address potential security breaches promptly.

IT Systems Implementation:

  • Assess organizational IT needs and implement computer systems to meet information systems requirements.
  • Design and develop the IT Infrastructure and Support departments to align with business needs and future growth, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex network systems and recommend enhancements to infrastructure and architecture.

Technology Upgrades:

  • Plan and execute the upgrade of aging technology platforms to next-generation hardware, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Upgrade key software platforms to the latest versions to enhance functionality, security, and end-user services.
  • Ensure system logs are accurately recorded and reviewed, patches and anti-virus updates are executed, and database backup procedures are rigorously followed according to policies and procedures.

Policy Revision and Implementation:

  • Continuously revise and enhance technology policies to address gaps in security hardening methodologies and virtualization.
  • Implement and maintain network configurations and security best practices to ensure a secure and efficient IT environment.

Security Testing and Vendor Management:

  • Schedule and oversee annual network penetration and vulnerability testing, promptly addressing high-risk findings and documenting actions taken to the IT Governance Committee.
  • Negotiate bid proposals, manage contracts, and maintain strong vendor relations to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide oversight for third-party technology vendors, ensuring their work meets business requirements, is well-documented, and aligns with organizational standards.
  • Monitor and report any deviations, issues, or problems encountered with the work of third-party vendors to senior management.

Monitoring and Response:

  • Manage, schedule, and monitor network penetration testing and vulnerability scans in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Act on all security alerts, document remediation actions, and continuously strengthen the cybersecurity plan.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and retention of emails and log journaling files per policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Disaster Recovery:

  • Collaborate with the application team to create and publish release schedules, ensuring smooth deployment to the production environment.
  • Lead Disaster Recovery exercises, direct testing to achieve set objectives, and document findings to enhance the DR Plan.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and users, fostering a collaborative and responsive IT support environment.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience leading and managing IT projects with a strong focus on Azure cloud services.
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure, including security, network, and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, email, and phone systems.
  • Expertise in managing both on-premises and cloud-based platforms, with a deep understanding of Azure services and tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and delegation skills to effectively guide and develop the IT team.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with management, staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Proven ability to manage and enforce SLAs, holding third-party administrators accountable to contract terms and conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
