The Senior Analyst of Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will help lead the strategic finance support for commercial and operations teams across multiple lines of business. The Strategic FP&A Sr Analyst will leverage their experience, business acumen, and strong technical skills to develop and deliver robust analytical analysis, budgeting and forecasting process improvements, internal and external key stakeholder reporting, and project support. Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, SQL, Power Query, and Alteryx is essential for success in this role. This position reports to the FP&A Manager and will not have any direct reports. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions:

  • Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Conduct multifaceted financial analyses across multiple lines of business (LOB). Provide strategic recommendations to Sales and Operations teams and Company executives.
  • Build business cases to support strategic initiatives, including ROI analyses and cost modeling.
  • In coordination with the LOB management teams, create strategic goals to enhance company value. Align financial management with business strategy.
  • Establish relevant KPIs to help monitor performance against strategic initiatives and develop models that assist with decision making.
  • Assess operational risks and provide analyses on risk remediation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a cooperative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with managerial and executive teams.
  • Interpret data and organize analyses in clear and concise reporting. Provide meaningful insights to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
  • Budgets and Forecasts:
  • Collaborate with the FP&A Manager and the broader FP&A team to establish rigorous budget and forecast processes driven by business input. Participate in LOB budget and forecast discussions.
  • Coordinate with the FP&A Manager and the broader FP&A team to set and manage calendar for budget and forecast deliverables and create templates to drive consistency.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Develop robust understanding of Company’s transactional information and how transactional data maps to reported financials.
  • Partner with IT and business leaders to build reliable automated reporting. Continuously solicit feedback and monitor reports for relevance and accuracy.
  • Ensure preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external reporting.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; Relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a FP&A role.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with customers at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Well organized and self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong background in financial modeling, analysis, and business partnership with proven experience in providing leadership in financial decision-making that enhances company value and profitability.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office is required, with strong preference given to candidates skilled in SQL, Power Query, and Alteryx.
  • Ability to independently complete multiple time-sensitive tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • An in-depth understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making. Previous experience with ERP systems and data warehouse tools.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
  • Must be able to work alone and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
