Medication Utilization, Formulary, and Policy Specialist

As a Medication Utilization, Formulary, and Policy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing medication management practices UVA. The primary focus of this position is to manage the completion of formulary activities, support medication utilization projects, and ensure timely policy management within the department of pharmacy. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy or healthcare, project management, and policy development.

Create and maintain a database of P&T Committee actions and prepares routine and ad-hoc reports Design, implement, and maintain reporting tools for cost savings and quality improvement initiatives to support operational and clinical pharmacy initiatives to improve the medication use process, enhance safety, and reduce costs Develop and maintain reports and dashboards related to drug shortage management, purchasing history, and utilization trends to mitigate drug shortages Evaluates opportunities for inventory optimization including pricing and contract opportunities, expiring medication review, and par optimization across the pharmacy enterprise (inpatient, clinics, infusion, etc.) Builds and maintains electronic tracking and tools for non-formulary requests and refrigerator temperature excursions Respond to data requests in a timely and professional manner Other duties as assigned Position Compensation Range: $24.72 - $39.55 Hourly

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, IT or related field required
Experience: Experience: 3 years relevant experience performing data analysis, extraction and systems interface, or 3 years relevant experience in pharmacy data analysis
Licensure: None required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
