We are seek a Government Contract Intern who will support the Government Contract Specialist in identifying researching and pursuing contract opportunities within the government sector. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn about government procurement processes contract management and the intricacies of working with government agencies.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on government procurement platforms (SAM.gov state and local websites) to identify potential contract opportunities.
- Assist in the analysis of RFPs RFQs and other solicitation documents.
- Support the preparation of bid proposals including data gathering document formatting and proofreading.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of contract databases and tracking systems.
- Learn about government regulations and compliance requirements related to contracting.
- Assist with contract administration tasks as needed such as document filing and organization.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelors degree in business public administration or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in learning about government contracting and procurement.
Length of appointment: Flexible with class schedules.
Time commitment: 1020 hours per week depending on availability.
Support provided: Youll have a dedicated supervisor and receive detailed instructions throughout the process..

Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience in federal grant writing, application preparation, administration, and activity delivery for disaster recovery and mitigation projects. Proven track record of securing and managing federally-funded projects, or similar contexts. Strong understanding of federal grant regulations, policies, and application procedures, with expertise in disaster recovery and mitigation funding. Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, capable of crafting compelling grant applications and reports. Proficiency in budget development, financial reporting, and project coordination for grant-funded initiatives. Effective research skills and the ability to gather and synthesize information from diverse sources. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and project management capabilities. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively with local government clients and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
