MCHS Family of Services has partnered with Mondo Unlimited to find their next Senior Program Director. MCHS Family of Services is a child and family welfare agency located in Metro Detroit providing foster care and adoption mental health services transitional living child abuse prevention and a variety community wellness programs. The Senior Director of Programs is responsible for ensuring our behavioral health and communitybased programs meet the agency expectations and goals. The Senior Director will serve as an important member of the agency s senior leadership team and implement the strategic vision of the agency. The Senior Director directs supervises and evaluates program staff. With the direction of the agency s executive team the Senior Director evaluates and implements all services for our communitybased programs as well as develops and oversees our behavioral health programming. The Senior Program Director works with all internal and external entities to address system issues and concerns.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Establish and oversee administrative and programmatic policies and procedures to meet the program s goals and objectives set by the CEO and the executive team.

  • Establish and enforce norms and best practice models that operate within the rules regulations and guidelines set forth by the State of Michigan MCHS funders and accrediting bodies.

  • Establish and maintain department systems records and reports as well as recommend develop and implement new approaches policies and procedures for continued improvement of department services.

  • Develop and oversee our behavioral health programming.

  • Provide oversight communication and support of charter school management company.

  • Ensure that all assigned program departments interface and have a collaborative cooperative working relationship with other departments within the agency and external governing agencies and the community.

  • Oversee supervisors and staff to ensure that they are functioning within the requirements of their job duties provide guidance training assistance and support to staff when needed including planning staffing performance management professional development adjusting workloads as necessary and addressing and resolving complaints to create a climate of teamwork and motivation.

  • Develop coordinate and oversee the implementation of a formalized program orientation of new hires; develop a training program with a curriculum that includes core competencies knowledge and skills that are necessary for the staff to be successful in their roles.

  • Operate programs in a fiscally responsible manner by adhering to budgets controlling expenses maximizing revenue and complying with all agency fiscal policies and procedures.

  • Plan organize implement manage monitor and modify short and longterm program initiatives.

  • As needed represent the agency to outside groups and organizations including businesses community and volunteers.

  • Partner with the CEO on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the CEO based on program analysis and projections.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.

RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Master s Degree in human behavioral science such as Social Work (MSW) or related discipline where 25% of the course credits earned toward the degree are in human behavior sciences.

  • Must meet the State s Moral Character standard.

  • Experience with a mental health or behavioral health agency.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Mental and behavioral health trends locally and nationally.

  • Strong computer and software applications (MS Office).

  • Child welfare trends locally and nationally.
