TCEQ - Corrective Action Specialist V

WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a part of the division’s Remediation team, our Corrective Action Specialist V will play a key role in achieving TCEQ’s mission. You would use your skills and experience to:
Oversee all phases of corrective action work at Superfund Section sites, including investigations, remediation, monitoring, and systems operations for TCEQ. Manage all phases of highly advanced corrective action work in accordance with Superfund Section guidelines. Prepare work orders, reviews invoices, and monitors project budgets. Perform technical or administrative tasks as assigned, such as but not limited to: train or provide guidance to less experienced staff, prepping guidance materials, standard operating procedures, contract specifications, or proposal evaluations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, earth science, or geology, plus five years of full-time experience in environmental activities directly related to the examples of work performed.
*Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination or the Fundamentals of Geoscience examination may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
OR
One year of graduate work (24 semester hours) in the specified fields may be substituted for one year of the required experience with a maximum substitution of three years.
OR
One year of full-time TCEQ experience as a Corrective Action Specialist IV
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in assessment and/or remediation of sites under Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) Experience in preparing and/or reviewing technical and/or regulatory correspondence (e.g., technical reports, letters) Experience overseeing or conducting soil and/or groundwater investigations (i.e., affected property assessments or remedial investigations). Experience managing and/or leading projects (i.e., responsible for scope, schedule, budget, client/customer interaction, managing contractors/subcontractors).-
