The Computational Biology Group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is excited to invite applications for a Computational Biology Technician/Technologist 3. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in pioneering research at the intersection of machine learning, computational chemistry, and multi-omics data analysis. Successful candidates will contribute to development of new computational software and tools, and apply existing tools to team-directed lines of inquiry, supporting multiple application areas in biology. 

Support the development of computational tools. Assist in the statistical analysis of high-throughput biological data. Utilize high-performance computing platforms. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including chemists, biologists, and medical doctors. Assist in preparing presentations and journal articles.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant experience -OR- Technical Institute Graduate (TIG)/relevant AA degree or higher and 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

A background in software engineering, applied math, bioinformatics/computational biology, or computational chemistry. Experience in the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput omics data. Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and packages, such as regression and classification algorithms, supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Neural Networks, Deep Learning, Sci-kit Learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow. Proficiency with Git, Linux, HPC environments, Pandas, and programming languages such as Python.
