Job Description: Senior Civil Engineer - Central Valley

Location: Central Valley, CA

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in the Central Valley, CA. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in civil engineering projects, particularly in infrastructure, land development, and public works. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the growth and success of our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead and manage civil engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
    • Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, utilities, and land development.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of permit applications and technical reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact analyses.
    • Perform complex calculations, modeling, and design using advanced engineering software and tools.
    • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and reports prepared by junior engineers.
  • Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all engineering work meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
    • Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to clients and project teams.
    • Participate in public meetings and presentations to communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes.
  • Team Mentorship and Development:
    • Mentor and train junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support to enhance their skills and professional growth.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure, land development, and public works projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
