Manager/Director, Valuation Services - Structured Finance & Capital Equipment Valuation for Renewable Energy

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a premier independent global professional services firm specializing in providing turnaround management, restructuring, performance improvement and corporate advisory services. The powerful combination of our valuation experience and A&M's operational heritage helps private equity, hedge funds, business development companies, banks and other financial services companies address valuation issues efficiently and effectively.

A&M is known for analyzing and resolving complex situations which often require the application of sophisticated valuation techniques. Due to increasing demand for such analysis, A&M has invested globally in building a team of valuation experts to provide a full suite of valuation services in the areas of financial reporting and tax compliance, transaction opinions, complex financial instruments, alternative investments, structured finance, and litigation support. This has resulted in our Valuation Services group growing steadily year over year and becoming one of the leading in the industry.

We have valuation expertise across asset classes, working with power, oil and gas, automotive, high-tech manufacturing, construction, dairy, over-the road, rail and aircraft companies. Currently, the majority of our valuations relate to renewable and alternative energy assets including solar, wind, fuel-cell, biogas and battery storage.

You will assist in the review and consideration of client provided information (including projected cash flows, and other relevant project documentation) as well market, industry and internal information, in order to derive indications of value using the income approach method (discounted cash flow analysis). You will also analyze market and industry information to be used in the financial models and to develop discount rates.

As part of a select, highly skilled, and entrepreneurial team, you will have the opportunity to serve a wide range of participants in the renewable and alternative energy space with valuation services. You will be valuing assets based on discounted cash flow analysis. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Leading an engagement lifecycle, which follows process, timelines, and delivery of valuation schedules and narrative reports to clients.
  • Building strong relationships with clients through exceptional day-to-day project management, coordination, and execution
  • Building and updating financial models using discounted cash flow analyses and performing additional modeling as required based on client needs
  • Training junior team members
  • Reviewing models and inputs
  • Conducting due diligence and maintaining client documentation for use in model building and deliverables
  • Reviewing market and industry information to be used in financial models and discount rate analysis
  • Building and maintaining effective control processes to monitor and track changes to the assumptions of valuation models
  • Contributing to the preparation, creation, and review of reports and other deliverables for clients
  • Building strong relationships with clients through exceptional day-to-day project management, coordination, and execution
  • Proactively communicating efficiently and effectively to all levels of the engagement team
How will you grow and be supported?

As a Valuations Manager/Director, you will have the opportunity to take your career to the next level by working on all aspects of discounted cash flow analysis while gaining invaluable experience in the renewable and alternative energy industry. Utilizing your critical thinking and research skills, you will have the opportunity to apply your analysis skills in a high-growth and evolving industry. You will be working closely with a team with experienced professionals who will provide you with developmental feedback and growth opportunities.
